Our client is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Cape Town. Should you meet all the below requirements please provide us with your application.
Job description
Under close supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the fleet. This position performs major mechanical repair services on different types of vehicles such as buses, cranes, JBC and truck and ensures proper performance and safety of the vehicles.
Minimum Requirements:
Repairing; maintaining and servicing diesel engines used to power machines, such as b uses, trucks and construction machinery e.g. JCB and Crane, using handtools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools
Diagnosing trouble, disassemble s engines. and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
Reconditioning and replacing parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings, using engine lathes, boring machines, weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment.
Disassembling and overhauls internal combustion engines, pumps, transmissions, clutches and rear ends
Adjusting brakes, aligns wheels, lightens bolts and screws, and reassembles equipment.
Changing oil, checking batteries, repairs tires and tubes, and lubricates equipment and machinery;
Repairing or replacing faulty parts and system s;
Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on vehicles,
Completing daily maintenance and repair logs:
Writing reports ta a supervisor or manager,
Record keeping of all the jobs done and maintaining workshop area all times.
Qualifications
National Senior Certificate in Diesel Mechanic or NQF level 3;
Trade test in Diesel Mechanic;
Code 10 driver’s license with PDP;
Experience in a workshop specialising in buses or heavy duty motor vehicles e.g. buses, trucks, JCB, and Crane;
Good analytical and problem solving skills to find the source of problems / malfunctions and rectify
the same;
Excellent Experience working with all parts of vehicles, breakdowns and welding
Good communication skills, ability to work accurately and Independently
Salary
R 325 020.20 p/a
