No Experience Jobs Antarctic Adventure Opportunity at SANSA

Have you ever wanted to go on an Antarctic adventure? Now is your chance! The South African National Space Agency and the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) are looking for volunteers to join the Antarctic takeover team leaving in Dec 2016 and returning in Feb 2017. Apply now for this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
SANSA is currently assembling a team to take with to Antarctica for the summer. The trip will be from approximately the beginning of December 2016 till the end of February 2017. Any individual interested in an experience of a life-time, with some scientific/engineering background may apply for this opportunity.

SANSA has a mandate, as outlined in the South African National Space Agency Act, 2008 (Act No 36 of 2008), to co-ordinate and integrate national space science and technology programmes and conduct long-term planning and implementation of space related activities in South Africa, for the benefit of the citizens of South Africa.
SANSA Space Science is a Directorate of SANSA situated in Hermanus, Western Cape. It forms part of the worldwide network of magnetic observatories, monitors and models variations of the earth’s magnetic field, and carries out physics research.
More information on the island and human activities there can be found here.
Background verification, including criminal record, credit checks, security clearances, qualification and citizenship checks, as well as competency assessment and psychometric testing, may form part of the selection process. SANSA subscribes to the principles of Employment Equity. Preference will be given to candidates in accordance with this.
How to apply
Closing date is 30 August 2016. Should you be interested in this amazing experience and are prepared for physically challenging and satisfying work, please e-mail your detailed CV (indicating clearly the position you are interested in) and a covering letter summarising the reasons for applying to aengelbrecht@sansa.org.za and cc ssalies@sansa.org.za.

Being able to read a question and understand what is expected of you is a super duper important skill that will help you get through your Matric finals. It can also have plenty of applications later in life too!
